Serving as the sole laboratory building for the Virginia State University campus, Hunter McDaniel Hall houses the departments of Chemistry, Physics, Nursing, Psychology, Mathematics and Computer Science.  The 108,300 square foot building was renovated and expanded to create a distance learning center, a Technology in Education to Advance Learning (TEAL) room, two high-end lecture halls, enhanced simulation labs, and informal learning areas equipped with the latest wireless technology. The renovated facility achieved USGBC LEED® Silver certification.  Sustainable features include an energy recovery system, no-irrigation landscaping, and lighting control sensors.
