Building Community – Demolishing Hunger!

PROJECT TAGS:

For the second year, W. M. Jordan Company and Warwick Mechanical Group competed in a friendly challenge to collect food and monetary donations for the Virginia Peninsula FoodBank.

Between the closing of a major grocery chain and the recent government shutdown, more of our neighbors need their local FoodBank to reduce food insecurity in their lives. The Building Community – Demolishing Hunger!  challenge is the perfect way to help our neighbors while having a great deal of fun.

Competition between these two teams was fierce, but effective. Individual teams within each group worked hard to see who would get the most points. Warwick Mechanical Group started strong and by mid-way through the challenge, they were in the lead. W. M. Jordan Company’s team rallied hard and ended the challenge with more points.

Together with other trade partners, these two local companies provided 55,282 meals for people in our community.

In the end, the Food Bank – and our friends and neighbors in the community – are the real winners!
