Hammer Away Hunger Challenge is a huge success

Our Newport News office recently participated in the Hammer Away Hunger Challenge against one of our subcontractor partners, Warwick Mechanical Group. The W.M. Jordan team rose to the challenge, donating food and money to the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. The results of this face off at the food bank were impressive!

W.M. Jordan Company Warwick Mechanical Group
Food donations 8,877 lbs 7,742 lbs
Monetary donations $6,180 $3,516
TOTAL POINTS 39,060 points 30,433 points
  • Bank of America’s Feed America campaign matched some of our funds, giving $2 for each dollar donated.
  • The Gobble Gobble Beaches team won our “WMJ Challenge,” becoming the proud owners of the commemorative Hammer Away Hunger T-shirt.

The Virginia Peninsula Food Bank appreciates the hard work and dedication of everyone who participated! Thanks to our collective efforts, 52,632 meals were provided to the communities which the food bank serves. It’s a proud achievement – and great example of the way our companies are building community together.
