Lauren Simone

Director of Learning & Development and Lean Construction

Lauren graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Building Construction and has been with W. M. Jordan Company since early 2015.  She started as a Project Engineer/Virtual Construction Manager before moving to Assistant Project Manager at our NASA Langley Research Project.

While at NASA, Lauren was introduced to Phase Pull Planning and Weekly Work Planning as elements of Lean Construction and the Last Planner System (LPS).  She immediately gravitated to the collaborative nature of Lean and LPS because they demand involvement and commitment from the trade partners in the planning and execution of the work.

Lauren then moved to Project Manager where she continued to implement Lean principles on her jobsites.  As Lean construction continued to grow throughout W. M. Jordan, Lauren was promoted to Corporate Manager of Lean Services.  This position allowed Lauren to work closely with W. M. Jordan’s leadership to establish companywide Lean best practices and checklists.

In October of 2024 Lauren took over as W. M. Jordan’s Director of Learning & Development and Lean Construction where she continues to lead learning efforts throughout the company as well as implement Lean principles on our projects throughout Virginia, North and South Carolina.

Lauren continues to instruct courses on the international stage for the Lean Construction Institute (LCI), AGC, and ABC.  She serves as a WMJ ambassador doing community outreach and charity fundraising as well as supporting our recruiting efforts at numerous high school and college career fairs.
