Construction firm W. M. Jordan Company announced today new leadership in the Richmond Division that will position the company for its next generation of growth and operational excellence in the region.

Effective immediately, K. Brooks Ballance, 56, has assumed the role of vice president of the Richmond division, while William “Bill” L. Lucas, Jr., 51, has been promoted to director of estimating for Richmond.

Brooks Ballance works to continually improve operational processes and develop effective teams for the Richmond division. Ballance joined the company as a project manager in 1999. His approach to project planning and team building has led to successful outcomes for complex projects including the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Critical Care Hospital, the renovations and additions to the Science Museum of Virginia, and multiple educational classroom, residence hall and learning facilities for the University of Virginia, the University of Mary Washington and Virginia Tech. He is current chair of the board of directors for the ACE Mentor RVA program.

Bill Lucas, director of estimating, works to guide, mentor and develop a team of project estimators in the company’s Richmond division. Lucas joined W. M. Jordan Company in 2007 as a project engineer, working on several high impact projects on the operations team before becoming an estimator in 2013. Lucas has experience with a wide array of project types over his 27 years in the industry including higher education, commercial, federal government, senior living and healthcare. He is an alum of Old Dominion University, where he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Lucas is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Virginia and serves on their membership committee.

“Brooks has consistently demonstrated himself as a forward-thinking leader, is committed to our WMJ team, and has a solid history of delivering quality results for our clients,” said company president Ronald J. Lauster, Jr. “Through his passion for construction, Bill has developed strong relationships with clients and trade partners and is extremely focused on a thorough preconstruction process. I look forward to working with both Brooks and Bill to continue the growth of the Richmond division and create new and exciting projects for our clients in Central Virginia.”
