Cape Fear Community College A.D. “Zander” Guy Building Expansion

W. M. Jordan Company provided Design‑Build services for the expansion of Cape Fear Community College’s A.D. “Zander” Guy Building, supporting the institution’s growing academic programs and workforce development initiatives. This 10,781‑square‑foot addition enhances instructional capacity and provides modern, flexible learning environments tailored to the needs of today’s students.

The new facility includes four general‑purpose classrooms, two specialized labs dedicated to economic and workforce development training, and a fully equipped biology/chemistry laboratory with adjacent preparation rooms. Additional spaces include faculty offices, restrooms, mechanical rooms, and essential support areas that improve overall building functionality.

A key feature of the project is the covered, open‑air walkway that connects the north entrance of the existing building to the south entrance of the new addition, improving campus circulation and accessibility. Site improvements also included the construction of a new parking area and the expansion of the existing retention pond to support long‑term campus growth.

Delivered through a collaborative Design‑Build approach, the A.D. “Zander” Guy Building expansion strengthens Cape Fear Community College’s ability to serve students, local industries, and the broader region with high‑quality educational and workforce training opportunities.
