OVERVIEW

The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) operates the region’s only Urgent Care for kids and teens in Newport News, VA. CHKD Urgent Care at Tech Center was a partnership between W. M. Jordan Real Estate Development and SJC Ventures. CHKD Urgent Care is a portion of the overall Tech Center development.  Developed in conjunction with the Tech Center Marketplace, the CHKD Urgent Care at Tech Center was initially built as a commercial office building with a bank component. Prior to buildout, the bank tenant was acquired by a larger company who no longer needed the space, allowing CHKD to express interest and ultimately lease the building and was later purchased by a Medical Office Building REIT in 2019.

W. M. Jordan Company provided construction management services for the building and the build outs. The structure features a glass and brick façade and offers a total of 26,667 square feet of medical office space.
