Hampden-Sydney College Gilmer Hall

W. M. Jordan Company is providing Construction Management at Risk services for the comprehensive interior renovation of Gilmer Hall at Hampden‑Sydney College. This 52,045‑square‑foot, multi‑phased project will transform the College’s former science center into a state‑of‑the‑art teaching and learning facility that will house the Departments of Economics & Business and Government & Foreign Affairs.

This renovation includes significant upgrades to modernize the building’s academic spaces and improve long‑term performance. Scope of work includes new MEP and sprinkler systems, upgraded finishes, modernized lecture halls, elevator improvements, and enhancements to landscaping and site lighting. Exterior improvements include window repair, masonry restoration, and new roofing, ensuring the building’s historic character is preserved while meeting contemporary academic needs.

Once complete, Gilmer Hall will provide Hampden‑Sydney students and faculty with a modern, collaborative environment that supports innovative instruction and strengthens the College’s academic mission.
