Lifespire’s The Culpeper

W.M. Jordan Company provided Construction Management at-Risk services for the new five-story, 123,313 square foot expansion of the Lifespire Culpeper Life Plan Community. The new building replaces the original brick structure built in the1940s and faces the Blue Ridge Mountains. The old building faced Route 15, but the new building has been flipped so residents have a scenic view of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountain vista.

The new facility includes 48 Assisted Living units, 32 Skilled Nursing units, 16 Rehabilitation units, and 32 Memory Care units in a secured environment, dedicated for residents with memory impairment such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The new building also features a dedicated ‘memory support neighborhood’ with secure courtyard, multiple dining venues, a fitness and wellness area for residents, short-term rehab to home neighborhood, a chapel, room for worship, a beauty salon and larger residential apartments for seniors.

The grand scale dining room features vaulted ceilings and an exhibition kitchen. Residents can watch chefs grill steaks and prepare their meals.

The Culpeper is a true five-star continuing care retirement community, licensed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Only 20 percent of nursing homes in America are rated five stars, and The Culpeper is the only one within a 50-mile radius to attain that rating.
