OVERVIEW

W.M. Jordan Company provided construction management at risk services to complete this single-level medical rehabilitation facility for wounded war veterans. The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) helps service members and their families manage traumatic brain injuries and psychological health conditions. The facility has a timber pile, structural slab foundation with a steel frame structure, and a glass and brick exterior facade. Interior spaces include treatment rooms, gymnasium, locker facilities, administrative areas, and a “Central Park” providing a calm atmosphere for patient and family member relaxation and family education. As this is a facility built on a military base, W.M. Jordan met the healthcare standards and regulations for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic. The building achieved USGBC LEED® certification for sustainable design and construction.
