Riverside Behavioral Health Emergency Department

Riverside Behavioral Health Center is an acute Psychiatric hospital in Hampton, VA offering both inpatient and outpatient treatment.  With the increased need for Mental health and Addiction Services, Riverside made the decision to develop a Psychiatric Emergency Department, which is the first of its kind in the state of Virginia. The goal of this program is to provide crisis treatment to both Adults and Children in a calming environment staffed 24/7 by Behavioral health Professionals.  The program will have a maximum capacity to treat 20 individuals at any given time.  It is being seen as a best practice site and has the goal of being duplicated throughout the state.
