OVERVIEW

W. M. Jordan Company completed design-build construction services for their corporate hangar located at the Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport. This is the third hangar built by W. M. Jordan Company.

The hangar boasts over 12,200 sf of space designed to fit two aircrafts. An additional 2,151 sf of space houses pilot’s offices, conference facilities, a kitchenette and shop areas. An epoxy floor coats the hangar to provide anti-skid protection should the floor get wet. Additionally, the facility is optimally designed to meet National Fire Protection Association requirements for fire sprinkler systems while maximizing the hangar’s square footage.

The lobby of the hangar also features a painted mural of the Write Brother’s First Flight. The mural was patterned after the original mural painted in 1940 on the wall of the Williamston, NC post office on Main St. This space provides a comfortable waiting area for company officials and their guests.
