His straightforward approach to project planning and team building has led to successful outcomes on complex projects such as the Virginia Commonwealth University Health’s Critical Care Hospital, the Science Museum of Virginia Renovations and Addition, Virginia Tech’s Creativity and Innovation District Residence Hall and The Forum Hotel at the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia.
Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree in building construction from Virginia Tech and has attended executive education programs at The Wharton School and at the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the industry board of directors for the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. Additionally, he is a long-standing member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and is a former Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) from 2014-2023 and holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate. Brooks also serves on the board of directors of the ACE Mentor Program of Richmond, VA an affiliate of ACE Mentor Program of America and is the Immediate Past Chairman. He actively supports CARITAS and the Science Museum of Virginia and enjoys boating, fishing and colleges sports.
