We are proud to announce that W. M. Jordan Company has achieved Virginia BEST Level III recognition, the highest designation within the Commonwealth’s Building Excellence in Safety, Health, and Training (BEST) program. BEST is a strategic partnership between the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI), Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH), and the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA), designed to promote exemplary safety and health management systems across the construction industry.

W. M. Jordan was officially awarded BEST Level III in December 2025, becoming the first construction management firm in Virginia to earn this distinction. Level III recognition is reserved for organizations with exceptional safety and health management systems that not only exceed regulatory requirements but also serve as a model for other construction employers across the Commonwealth.

This achievement reflects W. M. Jordan’s long‑standing commitment to continual improvement, guided by the company’s philosophy “The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence.” The model focuses on personal responsibility, voluntary engagement, and continuous improvement. This safety and health management system (SHMS) encourages and empowers workers to exceed minimum requirements and established regulations. In cooperation with the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) and the Virginia Occupational Health and Safety Board (VOSH), companies who achieve this standard are to work together to encourage and mentor other companies as they establish and maintain model worksites.

Reaching BEST Level III is the result of years of deliberate effort, steady leadership, and thousands of daily decisions made in the field and the office. Safety at W. M. Jordan is not treated as a shifting priority, but as a core value rooted in the belief that every incident is preventable and every individual deserves to return home safely each day. This culture extends beyond company employees to include trade partners and project teams, reinforcing safe planning and execution on every jobsite.

M. Jordan Company commemorated this major milestone with an official BEST Level III flag raising ceremony on March 6, 2026, at the company’s Richmond, Virginia office. Joined by Jim Frederick, Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry for the Commonwealth of Virginia, along with VOSH and DOLI representatives and Brandon Robinson, CEO of AGC Virginia, W. M. Jordan leadership and employees celebrated this achievement proudly. Our team was also excited to welcome former WMJ Director of Safety, Scott Sutton, to the ceremony in recognition of his pioneering role in the BEST Safety Program and his work in building the foundation of our corporate safety program.

While achieving BEST Level III represents a significant accomplishment, W. M. Jordan views it not as a finish line, but as a renewed commitment to continuously raise standards, mentor others, and strengthen a culture where safety and operational excellence go hand in hand. The company remains focused on working collaboratively with industry partners to model best practices, with the goal of ensuring every team member makes it home safely each and every day!
