W. M. Jordan Project Estimator Kyle Brooks has been around construction nearly all his life.
Growing up in Utah, construction was part of Kyle’s family. His grandfather was a developer, and his uncle worked as a framer, which meant Kyle started working with them from an early age. By the time he graduated from high school, Kyle had extensive experience in framing and concrete among the many other construction skills he had picked up from his family.
While attending Utah Valley University, Kyle was introduced to the commercial side of construction when he interned with the estimating team at Big-D Construction, a large General Contractor headquartered in Utah. Kyle continued to build his estimating experience after his internship working for smaller contractors in his area.
“I knew I loved working with my hands and creating things, which construction is great for,” said Kyle. “I also knew I did not want to be out in the field forever. Estimating allows me to apply the knowledge I’ve learned over years while also not being in the field constantly.”
Kyle and his family moved to Wilmington in 2020 and joined W. M. Jordan company in 2022.
“Estimating allows me to be involved from the project from the very beginning. I get to work with trade partners and our own team to help clients bring their vision to life. It is awesome to see a project go from designs to something I drive by with my family on a regular basis,” said Brooks.
In his spare time, Kyle enjoys doing carpentry and hanging out with his wife and three children.
“I’ve always found construction to be a rewarding career,” said Kyle. “A lot of people these days seem to not want to get their hands dirty, but the reality is there is a lot of work to be had throughout construction. Our trade partners need help, construction firms need help, the bottom line is there are a lot of options for you to be successful in construction if you are willing to work hard.”
With our clients, partners, and community, W. M. Jordan strives for the relentless pursuit of excellence.
