« Back to Leadership Jim’s strategic approach and strong relationships with the banking community leads to long-term stability and success for W. M. Jordan and its clients. As a certified public accountant licensed in Virginia, Jim worked for 13 years with “Big 4” accounting firms before joining W. M. Jordan Company as its corporate controller. Today, Jim serves as vice president, chief financial officer, and corporate secretary.
A veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Christopher Newport University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1993. In 2014, Jim became an alumni of the Hampton Roads CIVIC Leadership Institute and in 2017 he completed Stanford University’s “Emergent CFO” and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business’ “CFO Strategic Partnership” programs.
Community groups rely on Jim’s knowledge and sound advice. His civic service includes two terms as a member of the CNU School of Business board of advisors, past board president of the
Virginia Living Museum,
Hampton Roads Academy, and Peninsula Fine Arts Center. Jim currently serves as president of the Riverside Foundation and as a Commissioner on the Board of Commissioners for the Virginia Port Authority and on the board of directors for the
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula. In addition, Jim is a member of the
Construction Financial Management Association, the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the
Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
