Meet the Team
In 2014 Skip officially took the helm of W.M. Jordan Real Estate Development and turned it into a multi-million dollar, wholly-owned subsidiary of W. M. Jordan Company. On behalf of owners and third parties, he provides full-service, for-fee development with current development projects totaling over $250 million. Skip and his team actively manage an asset portfolio of approximately 1 million SF of commercial real estate with an estimated value at $111 million with nearly 93% occupancy rate.
Skip leads a knowledgeable and efficient team to facilitate and lead diverse projects that include large scale industrial and mixed-use developments such as Blacksburg First and Main and Mariners Row Apartments. He is closely involved in the strategic planning, design, and direction of real estate projects that benefit our region, such as Tech Center in Newport News and Harbor Commerce Center Warehouse.
Skip’s career started with W. M. Jordan in 1986. Prior to his current role, Skip served in many capacities within the company; including Project Superintendent, Business Development, and Project Executive.
Skip’s experience and knowledge provide him with a deep understanding of the customer’s needs, promoting successful outcomes based on their goals. He has worked to ensure his team performs projects on time, controls budget cost, creates maximum investment value for clients, manages relationships with municipalities, and builds a strong network of partners.
Skip gives back to the community through active participation on the boards of the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula and the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation. He is past president of the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate, past chairman of DePaul Health Foundation, and past chairman of the Mary Immaculate Foundation.
A Certified Public Accountant and University of Virginia graduate, David is the Director of Finance for W. M. Jordan Real Estate Development. He oversees the financial strategy and accounting function of the real estate development practice, from project budgeting, obtaining financing, and planning tax savings strategies at project inception to relevant, and accurate financial reporting during project execution.
David joined W. M. Jordan in 2019 after spending over 11 years at a Big 4 accounting firm. During his time in public accounting, David audited the financial statements and internal controls for start-up, mid-market, and large public companies in a wide variety of industries. His client engagements included initial public offerings and convertible debt financings, as well as evaluating discounted cash flow models and valuation techniques for deals exceeding over $10 billion in acquired assets.
David’s ability to analyze and solve complex finance and accounting issues, identify key financial metrics, and concisely report findings make him an invaluable asset to our clients.
As a Senior Manager, Mark understands the environmental, social, and economic impact of the development phase and utilizes best practices to support client goals. With a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia, in addition to 40 years of experience with Public/Private projects, he is a respected asset to the real estate development team. His technical expertise and management of complex details contributes to the successful vision of the current Blacksburg Gilbert Street Mixed Use Project, the Blacksburg Public Safety Complex, and many others.
Prior to joining W. M. Jordan in 2019, Mark gained his years of experience in the public sector during his tenure with the City of Virginia Beach Economic Development Authority. There, he played a pivotal role in the development of prominent projects such as Virginia Beach Town Center, the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, and the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Mark volunteers with Hooked on Fishing – Not on Drugs, an organization that teaches underprivileged children life skills. He is also an active member of Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate, the Virginia Economic Developers Association, and the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers.
As Project and Asset Manager, Bryan’s project development experience has involved the relocation and management of the Newport News Public School’s Service Center for Operations and Transportation, and the ongoing and complex development of both Tech Center Research Park and Harbor Commerce Center Warehouse. Bryan manages large commercial and land assets that include maintaining physical operations of approximately 1 million SF of leased space, the internal and external aspects of operation, leases and maintenance, as well as the life-cycle of tenant improvement projects.
Bryan started his career with W. M. Jordan in 2016, bringing 10 years of prior public sector experience with the City of Newport News Economic Development Authority that included Public/Private partnerships such as the City Center at Oyster Point. A University of Virginia graduate, with a Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University, Bryan comprehends the intricate needs between municipalities, development partners, contractors and clients making him a valued team member.
Bryan serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Smart Beginnings, Virginia Peninsula. He is also a member of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber, Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate, and the Virginia Economic Development Association.
Noah joined the Real Estate Development team in 2022 after interning with the firm since 2018. Noah is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Building Construction and Real Estate.
As an intern, Noah became a key part of the development team, focusing on asset management by completing market comparison studies and analyzing operating budgets to maximize property efficiency. He currently works closely with Bryan Witt, managing external and internal client relations, operation, maintenance, leases, and tracking all aspects of tenant buildouts.
Angela brings over 20 years of administrative experience with a background in education and military service. She plays a vital role supporting the real estate development team, facilitating all aspects of internal and external communications, and providing the day-to-day administrative, financial and operational functions for the department.
Angela graduated from Averett University with a Business Administration degree and is a U.S. Army Desert Storm Veteran. She started her career with W M Jordan in 2019 and has become a critical support asset within the company.
Angela is a member of the Smithfield Rotary and VFW, working with their programs to give back to her local community.
Prior to starting with W. M. Jordan in 2020, Jennifer gained marketing experience in commercial real estate where she managed social media marketing and content creation. She graduated from Longwood University with her degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, making her a natural fit as the Real Estate Development, Marketing Coordinator.
Jennifer supports the real estate development process through the creation of promotional materials, presentations, and proposals. Her ability to use several real-time social media platforms to stay abreast of the latest industry news and announcements benefits both the team and clients. In addition, Jennifer creates an online following for the Tech Center Research Park through intriguing social media & website postings.
Jennifer has lived in Hampton Roads for most of her life and can often be found behind the lens of her camera taking pictures of fun events and her Australian shepherd.
Chris Bartley is the Asset Manager for W. M. Jordan Development. Chris oversees third-party property management in the day-to-day operations of real estate assets, including tenant relations, lease administration, and maintenance. Chris coordinates with the leasing and marketing teams to strategize leasing and sales of properties. He completes essential data analysis, continuously monitoring property performance, cash flow projections, and return on investment calculations, and performs market analysis to determine the best time for acquisition and disposition of properties. Chris is crucial in forecasting profitability, ensuring that owners and investors receive maximum value.”
