Today’s Construction Safety Week Spotlight features W. M. Jordan Safety Manager Junior Price.

Working out of our office in Wilmington, North Carolina, Junior ensures our jobs throughout the region are safe workplaces where everyone goes home to their families at the end of each day.

Junior’s career in construction began in 1984 working for RGC, a trade partner specializing in pre-fabricated steel, located just outside of Raleigh. Through his time at RGC, Junior worked on several W. M. Jordan projects, getting to know our teams and standards of excellence.

At RGC, Junior helped develop their safety program from the ground up. He received his safety training certification from N. C. State and directed RGC’s safety program for over 20 years.

Junior thought he was ready for retirement, but his love of construction was too strong to keep him on the sidelines for long.  Junior reconnected with W. M. Jordan’s Director of Safety, John Nichols, who was looking for additional support in our Wilmington region, which lead to Junior joining the WMJ team.

“I love keeping everyone safe,” said Price. “I believe in educating people. Taking the time to work with people on jobsites and teach them how to be safe is a very rewarding experience.”

Softball enthusiasts may recognize Junior’s name from his seven-year professional softball career, which ended with a spot in the Men’s Softball Hall of Fame.

He has been the Commissioner of his hometown of Angier, North Carolina and served as the Chairman of the North Carolina Associated Builders and Contractors. When he is not at busy working, Junior enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family.
